Harbour tote
Product — built by Tribal House
Stop babysitting your AI coding agents.
Port Bay runs a task board your agents work, inside a real local environment: .test domains, trusted HTTPS, databases, logs. Assign a card and review the result at a URL, not in a diff.
The headline feature
Move a card to To Do. An agent ships it.
Rate-limit the login route
Dark mode for settings
Add OAuth login
Fix N+1 on /dashboard
wrote app/Http/DashboardController.php
Migrate uploads to S3
Seed demo data
Wire password reset
One app, not a stack of tools
A local dev environment your agents actually work inside.
Every project gets a real running stack on a friendly .test hostname with trusted HTTPS, managed runtimes, a database, and captured mail. Press play and it is running.
Assign a card or @mention an agent and Port Bay dispatches it into that environment. It builds against a running app, not an empty checkout, then hands you a URL to review.
The environment is the bedrock — an agent can’t fix what it can’t run.
Live visual editor
Edit your live site. Port Bay writes the code.
Click any element on your running dev server and change layout, type, and color in a Webflow-style panel. Every edit is written back to your source — with a diff you approve first.
Built for the long way home.
Hard-wearing gear, quietly designed. Free shipping over $75.
Trail pant
Wool crew
Talk to your Mac. Capture anything.
Hold a key and dictate into any field — transcribed and polished locally, never sent to a server. Snap area, window, or scrolling screenshots and recordings, all searchable by the text inside them.
Every project gets a real environment.
Add a folder and press play: a runtime, web server, trusted HTTPS, and a database come up on a friendly .test domain, with credentials injected into your app. Outgoing mail lands in a built-in inbox. No Docker, no config.
Bring your own agent
Works with the coding agents you already run.
Or wire any CLI with a custom template. Run agents headless, or open them in their desktop app.
Also inside
Databases and mail
MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, or Memcached in one click, with DATABASE_URL injected on every start. A built-in Mailpit inbox captures all outgoing mail locally.
Built-in toolbox
A database client, an SSH workspace with inline SFTP editing, a live HTTP request inspector, a macOS sandbox for untrusted code, and one-click Cloudflare tunnels.
Local AI lab
A managed Ollama server with a live model catalog, on-device image generation, and speech synthesis. No API keys. Nothing leaves your Mac.
One-click migration
Import your existing projects from Laravel Herd, ServBay, or MAMP in a single step, and keep working the way you already do.
Questions
Everything developers ask first.
What is Port Bay?
Port Bay is a free, open-source macOS app that gives every project a real local dev environment — a .test domain, trusted HTTPS, managed runtimes, and a database — and a task board that your AI coding agents work inside it.
Is it free?
Yes. The Community tier is free forever: up to six projects, HTTPS .test domains, databases, Mailpit, tunnels, and the full agent board. Pro is $10 a month (and free forever for contributors) and lifts the ceilings.
Which AI coding agents does it work with?
Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Aider, OpenCode, Amp, Qwen, GitHub Copilot, Antigravity, and local Ollama models — plus any CLI via a custom template. Run them headless or open them in their desktop app.
Do I need Docker?
No. Port Bay provisions runtimes (PHP, Node, Bun, Python), web servers, HTTPS, and databases natively on macOS — no Docker, no /etc/hosts editing, no config files.
What is the visual editor?
A live, Webflow-style editor that runs against your actual dev server. Click any element, adjust layout, typography, and color, and Port Bay writes the change back to your source files — with a diff you approve first.
Does anything leave my Mac?
No. Port Bay is local-first by architecture — no account, no cloud. Dictation, the AI lab, and agent runs all happen on your machine.
No Docker. No config. No babysitting.
